RTC Preaching Conference 2020 | Preaching Deuteronomy

Preaching Deuteronomy

The Book of Deuteronomy sits at a crucial hinge-point in the unfolding of God’s purposes. Right before they enter Canaan, Moses powerfully and eloquently reminds the people of Israel of who had brought them to that point and what it will mean to serve Him in the promised land. Preaching Conference 2020 is an opportunity to dig deeply into this key Old Testament text with the help of Andrew Reid (Evangelical Theological College Asia, Singapore) and Murray Capill and Andrew Stewart (RTC). By participating in the conference, you will be equipped to better understand the message of Deuteronomy and to share it with God’s people.

Our annual Preaching Conference, normally hosted on the RTC campus, has been equipping preachers across Australia and New Zealand for almost two decades. However, holding a face-to-face conference during 2020 was always going to be a challenge. So, this year you can participate wherever you are, on your own or as part of a local church group. Video recordings of the conference sessions will be released on 21 September for participants to watch at their own pace. This will be followed by two live Q&A sessions on the 23rd and 24th of September.

Andrew Reid

Andrew is the Principal of the Evangelical Theological College of Asia (ETCAsia) in Singapore. He and his wife, Heather, are parents to two married sons. He has pastored churches in Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne and loves writing books that attempt to make the Old Testament accessible for Christians who don’t really know how it fits with their faith in Christ.

Murray Capill
Murray is originally from New Zealand where he pastored a church in Auckland for 10 years. He came to Australia in 2001 to teach part-time at the College and continue in pastoral ministry in the CRCA. Since 2006 he has taught practical theology full-time and for 12 years he served as the Principal. He is the author of Preaching with Spiritual Vigour (2004) and The Heart is the Target (2014). Murray is married to Wendy and they have five children and four grandchildren.

Andrew Stewart

Andrew Stewart grew up in Northern Ireland and has served congregations in the U.K. and Cyprus before moving with his wife Katie to Australia in 1998.
